ANA HOLDINGS selected as an IT Leader
ANA HOLDINGS INC. (hereinafter “ANA HD”) has been selected by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) and Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) as a “Competitive Information Technology (IT) Strategy Company.” This marks the second consecutive year that ANA HD has received this distinction from METI. In addition, METI and TSE awarded ANA HD with the newly-introduced “DX Grand PRIX” label for its digital transformation efforts. In particular, ANA HD was commended for its efforts to build smarter airports, enhance customer experience with digital service and for breakthroughs related to AVATAR.
As part of a bid to incentivize innovation in Japan, METI and TSE sought out firms with forward-thinking approaches to cutting-edge technologies such as IoT, big data, AI and robots, designating them as “competitive IT strategy companies.” This allows savvy investors to identify companies that represent opportunities for long-term growth due to their emphasis on improving corporate value through technology.
The “DX Grand PRIX” distinction was presented for the first time in 2019, placing ANA HD as the champion among other recipients for this prestigious classification. ANA HD earned its place through efforts to streamline the company through digital transformation and by working to meet the needs of future consumers through integrated technological solutions. ANA HD was commended for strengthening competitiveness among “IT Strategy Company Stock Selection.”
“ANA has always prioritized innovation,” said Akihiko Miura, Executive Vice President and CIO of ANA. “We seek to remain at the forefront of technological change so that we are always well positioned to meet the needs of consumers as they shift and evolve. This recent recognition from METI and TSE serves to underscore ANA’s leadership in taking digital transformation. Our commitment to service and long-term strategic approach makes ANA a solid bet for customers and investors alike.”
METI and TSE praised ANA HD for its efforts to build smarter airports. ANA HD’s blueprint for the airport of the future calls for an in-depth examination of how people and technology interact in order to improve all aspects of the consumer experience. It also looks to make full use of the potential of new technologies to improve the productivity of employees through automation.
Moves to enhance personalized digital services were another aspect of ANA HD’s smart innovation that was held out as an example for future development. ANA HD has integrated data from scattered core systems and built a functioning customer information platform (CE platform) that centrally manages customer information across the company. By linking the CE platform with its ever expanding various digital service platforms, ANA HD has been able to create personalized, smart and comfortable services that enhance the travel experience.
The most ambitious project remains as ANA AVATAR, with its potential to help people interact across great distances in exciting and disruptive ways. Once fully realized, AVATAR will allow for real-time communication and even physical interaction using highly responsive robots. ANA AVATAR will bridge the gap between people, goods and services, helping to realize ANA’s vision of a better connected world.
These represent only the most prominent initiatives that ANA HD is taking to further business development and achieve the UN’s sustainable development goals. ANA HD aims to realize “ANA Group Society 5.0”*1 and we will continue looking for ways to leverage its unique insight and digital transformation to create sustainable corporate value.
