What’s new in Dominican Republic:
- 100 Years of Merengue to Celebrate Music and Culture in Puerto Plata | This Friday, Oct. 6, the Puerto Plata Amphitheater will be hosting a special celebration “100 Years of Merengue” to honor the country’s merengue roots with performances by Jhonny Ventura and Wilfrido Vargas, Fefita La Grande, Kinito Méndez, and Kiko El Presidente, among others.
- Ministry of Tourism to Build a Confluence Park in Constanza Region | Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism announced plans to build a confluence park at the meeting point of rivers Yaque del Norte and Jimenoa in the country’s central region. The park will serve as a public, urban space with various attractions for locals and visitors.
- 21st Annual Dominican Republic Jazz Festival to Commence Oct. 29 | The 2017 Dominican Republic Jazz Festival is set for Oct. 29 – Nov. 5 with performance in major cities across the county, including: Santo Domingo, Santiago, Puerto Plata, Sosua and Cabarete.
