Madonna:

When and why did you join the industry?

I joined the travel industry over 20 years ago and did so because I was passionate about travel.

What do you like most about your job?

Meeting new and interesting people every day and the challenge of creating a wide range of different itineraries.

What’s one of the biggest achievements of your career so far?

Owning my own business and quadrupling the turnover in five years.

What’s the best advice ever given to you and who gave it?

Don’t sweat the small stuff.

Who do you admire and see as a role model in the travel and / or hospitality industry?

That’s a really difficult question. I would have to say that I admire my husband. He inspires the whole office every day, always has a smile on his face and has been instrumental in growing our business.

Tony:

What can people expect from helloworld and what sets it apart from its competitors?

There are a number of factors that sets helloworld apart from our competitors.

Firstly, helloworld agents are passionate travellers with lots of experience in the industry, making us the ideal people to plan your holiday.  Secondly, the scale of our group has a strong combined buying power enabling us to secure competitive deals for our customers.  Thirdly, our store design is fresh and welcoming, our digital offering in-store is interactive, and we offer flexible booking options for our customers – in-store, over the phone or online.

Added to that, all helloworld stores are owner-operated which drives the success of our businesses.

What destinations are on your travel bucket list?

Carnival in Rio and a White Christmas in Scandinavia are definitely on the bucket list.

What’s a memorable travel experience you’ve had (good or bad)?

Standing at the base of Iguassu Falls was simply awesome.

What are three things you always take with you when travelling?

An iPad, passport and my wife!

Name someone famous you’d like to travel with and a destination you’d like to go with them.

As a drummer, I would love to travel on tour with Phil Collins playing Madison Square Gard
