China, Russia bond over tourism

Beijing

China’s National Tourism Administration (CNTA) has announced that China and Russia will continue to develop their tourism relationship.

CNTA revealed that the long history and rich culture of both China and Russia contributes to the sustainable development of the two neighbouring nations’ tourism industry, China Daily reported.

During the first China-Russia Culture and Tourism Forum held in St. Petersburg, tourism authorities from both countries said that they would dedicate greater effort into promoting less developed Chinese cities with large tourist resources among Russian tourists.

“Regarding the promotion of tourism, an important carrier of culture, we plan to re-focus from such developed cities as Beijing and Shanghai, to those less developed ones,” CNTA chairman Shao Qiwei said.
