Etihad Airways will begin screening live news and sports in-flight from November this year.
The Middle East carrier will introduce eight live television channels which will broadcast live news and sport, including the upcoming Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
You can expect to see BBC World News, BBC Arabic, euronews and Sport 24 from 1 November, while CNBC, Japan’s NHK World Premium, and CNN will come online sometime during the month, followed a few months later by Sky News Arabia.
“In-flight entertainment is a key part of the guest travel experience and the introduction of the eight live channels… will be a fantastic addition to Etihad Airways’ flights,” Etihad Airways chief commercial officer Peter Baumgartner said.
“We are delighted to broadcast this weekend’s Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on many of our aircraft, ensuring that passengers who are flying on race day won’t miss any of the action from Yas Marina Circuit.”
Other sporting events that passengers can watch throughout November include the ATP World Tour Finals, English Premier League and German Bundesliga matches and Euroleague Basketball.
