STIC expands marketing in Asia

STIC Travel Group is expanding its marketing reach, with plans to establish offices throughout Asia.

The New Delhi-based travel company set up its international headquarters in Singapore in March of this year, in anticipation of introducing more Indian tour packages for Asian travellers, the Economic Times of India reported.

“We are going to establish a marketing representative office each in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Thailand and Philippines in the coming months,” STIC chairman Subhash Goyal said.

Marketing offices will also be set up in China and Sri Lanka in the multi-phase expansion, with African regional office in Addis Ababa, followed by offices in London and the United States.

STIC is also planning tour packages for Indian travellers to Asia.

“We aim to increase our volume of tourists being brought into India to 50 percent in the coming years from the current 40 percent,” STIC director group business development Singapore Richa Goyal Sikri said.

60 percent of STIC’s international tourists visiting India came from Europe and the United States.

“We have to promote India to more Asian tourists, tour operators and travel agencies,” Ms Sikri said.
