Hot air balloon flights in Luxor, Egypt took off again for the first time since an accident earlier this year killed 19 tourists.
In February this year, a hot air balloon collided with an elecrtical cable during its sunrise flight over the Luxor temples, and fell up to 1,000 feet to the ground, killing all but two people on the flight.
Now less than two months later, tourists were able to enjoy views of the Pyramids from the air when six hot air balloons took off carrying tourists from England, Australia, Egypt and other Arab countries, Albawaba Business reported.
As part of new security measures, Egyptian Federation of Hot Air Balloon Companies president said the Civil Aviation Authority of Egypt would replace the Egyptian Airport Authority in overseeing all hot air balloon flights.
