Described by APT as an exceptionally elegant river retreat, the Oberoi Philae joins the stylish Moon Goddess as a boutique APT Nile cruise ship for the 2011-2012 season.

APT announces the addition of the Oberoi Philae Nile Cruise in its just-released 2011-12 Egypt & Jordan (featuring Turkey, Dubai & Europe) brochure, promising passengers up to six memorable nights in colonial era surroundings as they cruise from Aswan to Luxor in luxury.

With the new vessel comes a new tour, the 13-night Egyptian Jewels which includes the Nile cruise, four nights in Cairo at the Sofitel El Gezirah and three nights in luxury at The Oberoi Sahl Hasheesh on the Red Sea.

APT also introducing its hallmark Freedom of Choice Touring and Dine Around Dinners to the Egypt and Jordan program. Dine Around Dinners will be in Cairo, Luxor, Red Sea and Petra while Freedom of Choice Touring will be in Cairo, Dead Sea and Red Sea.

Both these popular inclusions are offered at no extra cost and have won strong customer support since they were first introduced to New Zealand tours. They now exist in APT’s programs for Europe, Scandinavia, Canada/Alaska, Vietnam, China and Australia, enabling passengers to tailor their holiday to suit their personal interests and tastes.

The 2011-12 brochure displays three Egypt-Nile cruise packages, two combining Egypt and Jordan, one complete Jordan tour, one Turkey, Egypt and Jordan package and a new combination of an APT Europe river cruise with Egypt and Jordan, on 26-day or 32-day itineraries.

The combination package – Waterways of Europe, Egypt and Jordan is from $14,795 per person twin share for the 32-day Amsterdam to Amman itinerary or from $12,595 for the 26-day Amsterdam to Cairo trip.

Brochure lead in tour is the 16-day Splendours of Egypt and Jordan, priced from $6295. There are 32 departures scheduled for this package between September 2011 and December 2012.

The brochure is launched with several offers – a fly free deal if combining an Egypt-Jordan tour with a Europe cruise, or companion fly free (taxes of $700 are additional) on any Egypt tour, or save up to $350 per couple on any Egypt tour.

Debra Fox, APT’s General Manager Marketing said APT had introduced these new features to the brochure in order to constantly be ahead of the market and to provide a superior product that customers have come to expect from APT.

“By adding these additional trimmings, we are demonstrating our innovative attitude to always trying to exceed our customer’s expectations,” she said.

“Since the unrest, we are confident Egypt is returning to our market, so we are well-prepared with customary boutique ships that meet our standards.”

APT’s focus is on our Small Group Tours, carrying on average 18 passengers. The small group experience will deliver a more personal and knowledgeable discovery of the region, taking into account customer expectations, interests and levels of fitness, said Ms Fox.
