Kuwait has the potential to become a world tourist attract, according to World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) secretary general Talib Rifai.
Mr Rifai noted at the International Tourism Fair 2011, Kuwait’s capabilities to host some of the world’s top tourist attractions, Global Arab Network reported.
According to the source Mr Rifai advised Kuwait delegates in charge of tourism outlets to focus on ways to expand tourism into the country, using the country’s cultural and atmospheric nature.
“Arab countries enjoy great potential to offer world-class tourist services,” Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing deputy director Abdullah Salem Bin Suwaidan told the Kuwait Times.
“Arab cities are qualified to become the world’s best tourist destinations.”
The International Tourism Fair 2011 was held in Madrid earlier this month and attracted delegates from up to 166 countries.
