The two Star Alliance members signed a codeshare agreement to share flight codes and customers on Turkish Airlines and US Airways.
The agreement signed last week will also expand travellers reach into both regions with US Airways gaining access to Istanbul while Turkish Airlines customers will have access to Charlotte, Philadelphia and Phoenix, Finchannel reported.
US Airways marketing and planning senior vice president Andrew Nocella said the airline is keen to offer the extended air travel services to its customers.
“This new partnership boosts convenience for air travel between the US and Turkey, and we’re excited to bring it to [our]… customers,” he said.
“This codeshare partnership served as an example of Turkish Airlines’ target to maximise the opportunities offered to passengers by enabling them to enjoy extensive networks of both airlines,” Turkish Airlines executive vice president Orhan Sivrikaya said.
