Desert Nights Camp in Oman

Cleverly designed and perfectly located just only 2 hours drive from Muscat, Desert Nights Camp is found in Wahiba Sands where the fine red sands surround the 10 acre property. In complete isolation from the outside world, the property is approximately 11km into the desert. The area is surrounded by a protective wall to ensure no roaming camels or other animals enter the secluded space.

There are 30 deluxe tents that offer a choice of Family Suites which accommodate four adults comfortably to Tented Suites that accommodate two adults. Each Suite offers air conditioning to keep you cool during the hot days and nights.

Each room comes with the following facilities.
– Bathroom with shower, hot and cold water on tap
– Tea and coffee making facilities
– Mini Bar
– Complimentary mineral water
– Bathrobes and bathroom slippers
– Private sit out area with views of the Desert
– Electrical plug points
– Towels

Activities at Desert Nights Camp include Camel riding, quad biking and dune bashing in and around the desert camp.

Before sunset, guests are driven to the top of the dunes to view the spectacular sunset that ignites the red sand which reflects off the property creating a heavenly site.

Back at the property, the service is outstanding as each staff member is waiting to assist you and with each request, you can ensure it will be delivered.
Extra touches include access to telescopes if you wish to view the night stars or if you wish to read, there is a mini library with a variety of books to choose from.

For those travelers looking to meet other guests, the Oasis Bar is the place to go to enjoy a few drinks while watching the satellite TV.
Dinner is at the Two Dunes Restaurant where Indian, Chinese and Arabic cuisines are infused to create an international hot pot on your plate from fresh salads to seafood, chicken, meat and soup. The choice is yours.

The property will soon be building an indoor swimming pool to create the perfect contrast of water within the desert.

I personally enjoyed staying in the desert and recommend when travelling to Oman, the Desert Nights Camp is a stop on the itinerary.
